Frankincense Oil
Frankincense oil is derived from the resin of the Boswellia Serrata tree, a species native mainly to India. Cultivated for its valuable essential oil, this tree thrives in arid regions such as Somalia, Oman, and India. The Boswellia Serrata species is known for its soft texture, high oil yield (around 10%), and rich resin content.
Often referred to as the “King of Oils,” frankincense is especially valued in meditation practices. Its warm, balsamic fragrance with earthy undertones promotes a sense of peace and spiritual clarity. When applied topically, it helps refine the skin’s texture, soothe irritation, and support scar care.
There are multiple species of frankincense trees, each producing unique types of resin and essential oils. Factors like soil type and climate contribute to the variation in resin quality, even within the same species. Despite these differences, all types of frankincense essential oil offer a wide array of therapeutic benefits.
